Why I Always Recommend Meeting Your Wedding Photographer Before You Book (Hi, That’s Me!)

Hey there! 👋 I’m a documentary wedding photographer who's heart for photography is connection with your people (aka quality time & prioritizing moments with your fav humans) rooted in storytelling, which means I get to hang out with amazing couples on one of the best days of their whole entire lives—pretty awesome, right? But before we get to the hugs, happy tears, and dance floor shenanigans, there's something super important I always recommend:

Let’s meet before you book me. Yup, even if you've already stalked my Insta, saved your fave photos, and feel like we’d totally get along—I still think a real convo (in person or over google meet) is so worth it. Here's why:

1. The All-Important Vibe Check

Let’s be honest: I’ll probably spend more time with you on your wedding day than your maid of honor. 😅 That’s why it’s so important we actually click. I want you to feel totally comfortable around me, because when you're relaxed and having fun, the real magic happens in your photos. No forced smiles & fake poses over here.

Meeting up gives us both the chance to see if we connect. If you’re laughing, telling me about your proposal story, and forgetting we’re even “officially” chatting you are definitely on the right place.

2. We’ll Break Down the Wedding Packages (Without the Headache)

Wedding packages can be confusing & overwhelming, I get it. There’s coverage hours, second shooters, albums, sneak peeks, engagement sessions... whew. When we meet, I walk you through it all so it makes total sense.

I want you to know exactly what value you're getting and why it matters—no pressure, just real talk. Together we’ll figure out what works best for your day and I can help customize something if needed. It’s all about making it work for you.

3. Planning Stress? Let’s Calm The Chaos

Weddings come with a lot of moving parts, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed—especially if this is your first time doing this whole wedding thing (which, for most couples, it is!). When we talk, you’ll have a chance to just breathe, ask all the questions, and get clear on how the day might flow.

I’m here to make the process feel easier, not add to the stress. Pinky promise. ✨

4. I’ll Share Tips You Didn’t Even Know You Needed

I've seen a lot of weddings—and I’ve picked up a ton of little gems that can help your day run smoother. Things like the best lighting at your venue, how to plan a stress-free first look, or when & how you should incorporate table photos if it is something you are thinking off.

When we chat, I can offer advice you might not have thought about yet—and help you start to see how your big day could look. That’s the best part for me: watching your eyes light up as it all starts to come together.

Meeting before you book isn’t just about ticking a box. It’s about making sure you’re choosing someone you trust, vibe with, and can totally be yourselves around. Someone who’s going to support you every step of the way making you feel seen & valued—not just show up with a camera on the day.

So let’s grab a coffee, hop on google meet, or meet up somewhere cozy. No pressure, no awkward sales pitch—just a chance to get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit.

I can’t wait to hear about your story (and probably cry at your vows later 🥹).

All my love,

Megs xxx
